President

Bob has over forty years of experience in construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering. His favorite part of the job is working with his staff because it is always fun!

He has been in the industry since he was 18 years old. Throughout the years he has had the pleasure of being a technician, a manager, and now the owner of his own business.

He is proud of the team he has assembled which include sincere and motivated employees who have dedicated themselves to establishing a standard of excellence and commitment that will give each of their clients the highest quality of service possible.

Fun Fact:
Bob wants to go into outer space one day, but for now, he is occupied with making Geoscience’s service great.

Telfryn L. John, PE

Senior Vice President

Mr. John provides over 40 years professional engineering and consulting experience in environmental, geotechnical and construction materials engineering / inspection and testing.

He has served as principal in charge, principal consultant, chief engineer, project manager, project principal, and consultant on a wide array of geographically diverse projects for commercial, educational, healthcare, infrastructure, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, mining, petrochemical, pulp and paper, retail, sports facilities, transit and transportation projects, nationwide.

The favorite part of his job is to identify opportunities, develop contacts and to secure sales.

Ronald Craig Falan

Sr. NICET Level IV, Executive Vice President

Ronald has over fifty years in construction inspection, testing and management. His favorite part of his job is to be there when one of our young trainees sees or hears something that “makes the light bulb turn on”, to see two or three years of learning all of a sudden make perfect sense.

For as long as Ronald can remember, he has been involved with building something such as roads, bridges, buildings, sub-divisions, or large shopping malls. Lately he has focused on building a company that will do great things long after he is gone. Of all the great companies Ronald has helped build, he never owned a part. He would give anything to go out as a partner. No matter how small his share was.

Ali Kavoosi

Project Manager

As a chemical engineer, Ali’s favorite part about his job is facing new challenges daily. He is a team player who pays attention to detail. Ali also has experience in project management.

Roxana Canales

Geotechnical Project Manager

Roxana Canales serves as a Geotechnical Project Manager for Geoscience coordinating and handling all aspects of client requests, proposals, planning and scheduling of field drilling and sampling operations, and overall project delivery. She has worked in multiple roles since graduating high school learning the business from the ground up. Roxana is well known and liked by our clients and contractors alike.

Susan McPhail

Sr. Project Manager

Susan McPhail has been in the construction materials testing industry (CMT) for nearly 30 years now and has a vast knowledge of CMT from dispatching, administration to project management. She takes great pride in what the CMT industry provides to the construction and engineering field.

There are constant challenges from the field to the office to the report supplied to the client. There never goes a day by that she doesn’t learn something new. She wants to strive for the best for GeoScience and for our industry.

Fun Fact:
Studied dance for 21 years.

Kishor Rawal

Project Engineer

Kishor always seeks for a variety of complex and challenging projects that make his job interesting and enjoyable. With 3-years of experience in Houston and Gulf coast areas, he specializes in commercial and high-rise building foundation designs, Highway pavement designs, and slope stability analysis.

As a Project Engineer, he supervises projects teams, coordinates with drillers and clients, and prepare geotechnical reports. He has got excellent project management skills and leadership qualities. Kishor holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Toledo, Ohio. He is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers.

Salar Samsami

Project Manager

Salar has an M.S. in Soil Science Engineering and more than 20 years of professional experience in areas such as Civil Engineering, Geotechnical and Construction Material Testing and Inspection. Teamwork is very important in completing a project, so working together and finishing a project is Salar’s favorite part of her job. She has experience in in geotechnical exploration and construction materials testing.

Jason Sandoval

Construction Materials Testing Manager

Jason began in the Construction Materials Testing industry 18 years ago as a field technician. During this time, he had successfully held positions such as Lead Project Technician, Field Services Supervisor, Dispatcher, and Radiation Safety Officer.

Jason currently holds industry related certifications such as NICET Level III in Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, Post Tension Institute Level 2 Inspector, Radiation Safety and Hazmat training.

Christopher Vila

Vice President, Special Inspections

Christopher has more than 30 years’ experience in Construction Materials Testing and Inspection. The experience encompasses direct hands-on activity in every aspect of construction, from activity in the field/lab to managerial oversight of multiple projects, to quality assurance and quality control programs.

Train personnel to performed extensive tests and inspections on asphalt, concrete, masonry, soils, steel, coatings, specialized tests; moreover, he was responsible to provide analysis and document observations to discuss with our client the material properties relating to code acceptance. He is actively participating in company quality programs including ICC special inspection – tests and auditing fabrication facilities.

A key person on in-house development of rapid soil compaction testing methods, soil stabilization evaluation, and asphalt forensics. In concrete, he is currently developing training procedures for utilizing plastic and hardened unit weight for concrete for quality assurance as well as the “Rock” system for implementing the maturity methods of forecasting concrete strength and Schmidt hammer test to verify the field conditions.

Christopher’s degree in NDE for San Jacinto College helped him facilitate the training and oversite on NDE methods in structural steel including eddy-current, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic and various coating test on ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic substrates.

James Taylor

Branch Manager

James began in the Construction Materials Testing industry 8 years ago as a field technician. During this time, he had successfully held positions such as Lead Project Technician, Field Services Supervisor, and Subcontractor. James enjoys every minute of his career and believes Geoscience represents a vital part of the construction industry. His favorite part of his job is the people he works with and the job itself.

James currently holds industry related certifications such as NICET Level II, SB 101, SB 102, and ACI Concrete Level 1 and is a Supplemental Examiner for the ACI Houston Chapter. On his free time, he is a huge Arkansas Razorback fan and an outdoor-lover.
